Creole Kingpin review!

Creole Kingpin is unlike anything Meghan March has written thus far. It is by far her best work to date.

Creole Kingpin sends a powerful message and it’s simple. No matter WHAT you’ve done in life to survive you too deserve to find love.

Here’s why. Creole Kingpin has a distinct difference in than meghans other books. It features a female alpha. Magnolia Masion. Now that’s not to say other heroines aren’t badass but Magnolia is on a whole other level. You get the distinct feeling that Moses is taking a back seat and letting magnolia shine throughout the book. Although not to be confused with being the weaker partner in the relationship. I believe it’s also the first time where the readers know more about the Heroine than they do the hero. Giving magnolia seniority in who the readers care for more. At least it’s that way in my mind.

Readers of the mount trilogy know magnolia as the jaded best friend of Keira who also happens to be New Orleans’ Madam. Some did not like her. Others did. I was interested to see how Meghan would write Magnolia’s story and convert those naysayers to YAAAAASSS QUEEN! I was not disappointed and it came out beautifully!

Here’s the official blurb for the book

The thing about ghosts is they’re supposed to stay dead.

That’s exactly what I am, but I can’t stay away from Magnolia Marie Maison for one more day, let alone another year.

We’ve already got fifteen of those between us.

As it stands, she’ll want to kill me as soon as she lays eyes on me. And knowing her, she’s completely up to the task.

But I’m a man on a mission, and I’ve got everything riding on this.

So, here I come, Magnolia. This ghost is ready for whatever you got.

After all, there’s only one way I want this to end—’til death do us part.

I don’t want to give too much away because it’s such a good book. However as the blurb says they’ve had 15 years apart and when Moses comes back into town let’s just say magnolia isn’t too pleased to see him. However after getting an ominous tarot reading and some one attacks her. Magnolia has no choice but to rely on the Creole kingpin.

Also I want people to take note of a character that only shows up twice in the book but I feel might be part of a Meghan March twist in the next book. I just get this vibe from the two scenes with him that says it’s not over.

There’s a part in the book that made me tear up a little bit between magnolia and a relative. I thought it was such a nice touch and a vindicating moment even though magnolia didn’t need it. It’s definitely an awe moment if not a bring a tear to your eye moment.

Now since this is magnolias book it does give a chance to peak back into Mount and Keira’s daily life and how they’re dealing with parenting. But with familiar characters Meghan also welcomes in new characters. Specifically two men that i need to have books of their own! Fingers crossed.

P.S. there’s a Meghan March cliff hanger that will leave you going “luccyy you have some splaining to do!”

P.P.S. This is my favorite quote from the book

“Kitten? Boy, I’m a goddamned lioness. Back the fuck off.”
